Lanzhou Petrochemical Adds New Tool for Green Production

Release time:2026-08-01 Click:

On May 17, at the construction site of the ground torch exhaust gas retrofit project for Lanzhou Petrochemical's 300,000 tons/year full-density polyethylene unit, plant personnel were advancing the "three checks and four fixes" work following handover, preparing for commissioning.
This project is a key environmental initiative by Lanzhou Petrochemical to implement the national "Action Plan for Continuous Improvement of Air Quality." By optimizing the exhaust gas treatment process, it enables dual control—daily recovery and reuse of exhaust gases along with emergency safe venting—thus strengthening environmental protection from the source. The successful handover marks continuous improvement in Lanzhou Petrochemical’s environmental governance system and represents a new milestone in its fundamental environmental management capabilities.
Since the project commenced in September 2025, Lanzhou Petrochemical has strictly followed a three-phase schedule: preparation, shutdown and construction in the full-density area, and shutdown and construction in the boiler unit, successfully completing two major upgrades. First, the ground torch gas from the full-density polyethylene unit was successfully routed to the burners of Boilers A and B, with supporting pipelines for nitrogen and instrument air installed simultaneously, establishing a comprehensive torch gas transmission and control system. On May 17, at the construction site of the ground torch exhaust gas retrofit project for Lanzhou Petrochemical's 300,000 tons/year full-density polyethylene unit, plant personnel were advancing the "three checks and four fixes" work following handover, preparing for commissioning.

Second, a basket-type filter was added and connected to the reserved outlet of the ethylene unit’s torch gas separator tank, enabling closed-loop control throughout the entire production process and eliminating uncontrolled emissions of waste gas at the source.
